국제백신학회(ISV, International Society for Vaccines)는 전문적이고 학문적인 학회를 발전시켜 백신의 모든 분야에 전념할 수 있도록 해야 한다는 백신 분야의 여러 과학자들의 제안에 따라 1992년 설립되었다. 약 30년이 지난 현재, 국제백신학회는 세계 백신 분야에서 가장 널리 인정받는 비영리단체 가운데 하나이다. 국제백신학회가 지난 수 년간 외연적 성장을 하였으나, 인간과 동물에 대한 감염병 및 비감염병의 예방과 통제를 위한 백신의 개발과 사용을 장려, 확립, 증진하고자 하는 원대한 목표는 변치 않았다.
국제백신학회는 백신과 관련된 모든 영역에서 다양한 회원들의 전문적인 목표에 참여, 지원, 뒷받침한다. 국제백신학회는 학회의 목표와 목적을 고취하기 위해 적극적으로 지원하는 이들에게 회원 특전을 제공한다. 국제백신학회는 매년 10월 연례 총회를 개최한다. 이 총회는 백신과 관련된 세계 최대 규모의 비영리 과학 컨퍼런스이며, 백신접종 및 면역치료와 관련된 다양한 주제들을 다룬다. 국제백신학회 총회는 이 분야의 최신 발전상에 대해 듣고, 도전과제와 기회를 논의하며, 교류하기 위하여 전 세계 백신 분야의 모든 영역의 참석자들이 모이는 자리이다.
